'Exercise helped Anthony \"Big Tone\" Salas turn his health around. Then, it changed his life. Today, exercise is a source of unshakable purpose and big dreams. As a GovGuam employee, membership at Paradise Fitness was fully covered by his health plan. And in 2014, as he struggled with drug addiction and hit rock bottom, Paradise Fitness became his touchstone -- a supportive community and well-equipped fitness center that anchored him in positive values and tremendous resources every day. Big Tone has gone from strength to strength, becoming Guam’s unrivaled strongman in Powerlifting, representing the island in international competition. In the face of serious COVID-19 illness in 2020, exercise once again saved his life. Fitness kept him resilient and the call to live even healthier and leaner -- even as he increased his strength, lifting outrageous numbers -- pulled him back to the gym five days a week with a new regimen that catapulted him to new heights in Powerlifting. In March 2021, his Powerlifting performance at the FQ Classic in Las Vegas won two gold medals.
