'Jason Blaha\'s Fitness Q&A May 15th, 2016'

'Weekly Fitness Questions Answered by Jason Blaha: 0:15 Hi, you said in your videos that one can gain 30lb of muscle in a lifetime, but where is the starting point? At 21 i was a skinny 61kg (134lb, about 12% bf), got fat to 80kg (176lb), managed to cut down to 65kg (143lb). A couple months ago I started working out for real (5x5 is awesome) and went up to 75kg (165lb, still about 12%bf). I know about noob gains, but where would my starting point be? At 60, 65 or when I max out noob gains? 3:44 Is there any research that indicates a difference in response of protein synthesis uptime after resistance training between new trainees and experienced trainees? 5:08 Hey Jason this question is about your latest video on rep range. I\'m a novice lifter who\'s been doing your 5x5. I have come pretty close to injuries with the low reps and \"grinding reps\". My risk injury would be much less likely and also less severe if I was working at the 12-20 rep range. My goals are to maximize BOTH strength and hypertrophy 6:57 Have you heard of anyone feeling lethargic and in a lesser mood on off days? I train first thing in the morning, and on off days I tend to not feel as good in general throughout the day, mentally or physically. 8:40 In your recent video about meal frequency your conclusion was that it basically dosent matter. There is research that states that protein synthesis returns to baseline around 3 hrs after being spiked. Dosent it make sense to keep ingesting leucine to stimulate protein synthesis around every 3 hour mark? 10:13 given that fish oil is anti-inflammatory, should one consume it before or post workout ? 11:24 Does lifting weights long term cause degeneration of the intervertebral discs in your spine and the cartilage in other joints? 12:39 Hey Jason, I need to be able to do at least 50 solid push-ups to get into a Firefighter I Academy. Right now, I can only pump out 20-22 at best. I am trying to improve my reps by doing sets of push-ups throughout the day. How would you approach increasing push-up reps in the fastest and safest manner possible? Also, any safety pointers to prevent shoulder injury? Thanks! 14:23 Hey Jason, in the past you have pointed out that DOMS is not an indication of muscle growth. While working out, is a pump, or burn in a muscle indicative of effective stimulation of that muscle group? Or is getting a pump or burn, like DOMS, its own thing and not related to muscle stimulation or growth? Thanks! 16:14 My dad is 50 years old. He started weight training at Planet Fitness January 1st and he has been impressively strict with his training. He does 30 minutes of cardio a day and does a full body circuit 3x/week, for 1 set, using machines only. Is using only the machines sufficient enough for putting on muscle and improving health/fitness? 17:59 Jason, How powerful are AAS at preserving muscle when cutting, compared to naturals?you have explained before how powerful AAS are at building muscle, even while sedentary as compared to lifting weights naturally. That the AAS still blow the lifting alone out of the water – and this accounts for bodybuilders succeeding in-spite of themselves. 19:43 What is your opinion on the militarisation of outer space? Should there by an internationally binding agreement to prevent the armament in space (i.e. PAROS), or should there by a right by necessity for nation-states to launch military space objects on orbit so that they can defend their own sovereignty/security? ►Subscribe to Jason Blaha Fitness Here! http://www.youtube.com/user/juggernautfitnesstv?sub_confirmation=1 ►Subscribe to Jason Blaha\'s Firearm Channel Here: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UClvrYLBNFSyuRa0s0qOujqQ?sub_confirmation=1'
