'2News Fresh Start to Fitness - Full Body Workout Using Dumbbells'

'Dumbbell exercises don\'t have to be completed using heavy weight in order to get a good workout, according to Jeffrey Beck, exercise specialist with the Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute in Murray. Whether you have some light weight at home or at the gym, a good full body workout is within your grasp, said Beck. He recommends that you complete the following routine three times per week in order to boost your metabolism, improve your strength level and lean out: 1) Horizontal Jack Press: Hold a pair of dumbbells at your sides, arms bent at a 90 degree angle. Jump out to the sides with your legs while pressing the weight forward at chest level. Return to starting position and repeat for 30 seconds. Rest for 30 seconds and then do it again. Do 3 sets. 2) See Saw Row: Place one leg forward and hinge forward from the hips while holding a dumbbell in each hand, palms facing each other. Quickly raise the dumbbells up to your sides in an alternating fashion. Do this continuously for 30 seconds. Rest for 30 seconds and repeat. Do 3 sets. 3) Glute Bridge Pullover: Lie on your back, knees bent, holding a dumbbell in each hand with arms extended above your head on the floor. Lift your pelvis off the floor and hold the position while simultaneously raising the weight up so it hovers over your chest. Return your arms to starting position. Repeat the movement with your arms for 30 seconds. Rest for 30 seconds and repeat. Do 3 sets.'
