'0:09 Hi Jason. I have a really hard time progressing on my bench in comparison to all my other upper body lifts. My overheadpress and barbell row are progressing well while my bench is more or less stalling.Ive added more direct chest work which did help for a while but now im stuck again. Perhaps im just not build for benchpressing? A 2 plate bench still seems so far away... help.( My 5rep max numbers: bench 187, row 198 ohp 135) Thx coach 3:23 I have been running your 5x5 novice program for about 5-6 months now. Already reached an intermediate bench(225x5) and a decent ohp(143x5) but still pretty weak in squats and deadlifts (200x5 squat and only 240x5 DL). Should I take time off from benching and focus on bringing up those two lagging lifts or should I continue running the program as it is? Bodyweight - 165. 6:01 Hey Jason, I know as a natural lifter as the years go by, we get diminishing returns in terms of muscle gain. However, I hear a lot of advanced lifters talking about training for muscle density/muscle maturity. Is this something a advanced trainee should be going after? I\'m assuming this will give the illusion of a bigger muscle. Thanks 8:48 Thoughts on going to failure every set with maximum intensity on a higher rep set “8-12” for building muscle vs maximum intensity for a few sets on a lower rep set “1-5” but leaving a couple reps in the tank. 11:26 What do you think of adding in greasing the groove for pull ups? Is my understanding of about 5/6 weeks 5 times a week about the length of time it should be run. I’m trying to strengthen this movement to be able to do weighted pull ups/chin ups.
