'Reviewing and Recreating Lorraine Warren Outfits: A Case Study in 70s Fashion & Dark Academia'

'SPOILER FOR THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT: 19:00-19:56 Lorraine Warren’s outfits in The Conjuring Universe are a case study in the evolution of #1970sfashion and specifically the #vintage influence on the era, like #Victorian cultural and sartorial trends. The costumes rightfully nod to #darkacademia and evoke the #gothic atmosphere that so elevates a good #horror movie, and Lorraine (played by Vera Farmiga) is especially good at #lightacademia and #romanticacademia with her earthy tones, preppy plaids, and frilly blouses. I recreate one look from each film and review them as I go. My outfit recreations always favor vintage, secondhand, and rented pieces for a more sustainable (and budget-friendly) approach to costuming. Please consider dressing like Lorraine in your daily life, or for your next #Halloweencostume, and be sure to tag me if you take any inspiration from this video: https://www.instagram.com/maggiewhile/ #theconjuringreview SOURCES: Warner Bros.
