'Civilian Tries the US Army Fitness Test'

'Sorry for the push-up booty... In today\'s PostGrad Fit fitness challenge, I (Civilian) take on the US Army Fitness Test (PFT) to see if a small time fitness youtuber has the strength and athleticism to meet the Army\'s bare minimum. The test has 3 parts: 2 minutes of push-ups, 2 minutes of sit ups, and a 2 mile run. Based on your gender, age, and enrollment status, there is a minimum standard required for each exercise to pass the test. As a 25 year old male, I\'d need to do at least 31 push-ups, 43 sit-ups, and run 2 miles in 17:30 to graduate boot camp. I\'d need to do at least 40 push-ups, 50 sit-ups, and run 2 miles in 16:36 as \"Maintenance\" after boot camp. My goal for the challenge is to hit the maintenance standards. Even though I didn\'t prepare for this, I swam competitively for a decade growing up, and still exercise regularly. It would be embarrassing to fail this given my background. Do I have the athleticism to pass the United States Army Physical Fitness Test? Stay tuned! PostGrad Fit provides practical nutrition and fitness inspiration for busy people in the workplace.
